I was so excited to help throw a jungle/safari-themed baby shower for my best friend Lindsy and her husband Joe. They are having a baby boy in April and I could not be happier for them! I wanted to make extra special things for the shower since I?ve been BFF?s with Lindsy since first grade, so I came up with a variety of games, made table runners, a banner and of course-some awesome centerpieces!
Games included Baby Gift BINGO, Baby Price is Right, Celebrity Baby Name Game and a Blind-folded Diaper Changing Challenge (which the daddy-to-be won!). I also made ?Baby Love? cards for the guests to fill out little notes to baby. Some of the answers on them were hilarious?and some were super sweet. I wish I had them at my shower!
The family picked plates & cups in a jungle/safari theme since the baby?s room is a jungle-sports theme. (Yes, there is such a thing as a jungle-sports theme!) It was this theme from Party City so I had to make stuff that would go with it. Included in that ?stuff? was jungle-inspired centerpieces in bright, boyish colors and giraffe & leaf print table runners that sat atop brightly colored plastic tablecloths. The game cards were also themed to match the plates + cups in color and theme. The only thing that didn?t match were the dolls we used for the blind-folded diaper changing challenge. The only thing we could find was these hideous home-made vintage cabbage patch wanna-be dolls that were my husband?s. They are so ugly I did not even take a photo of them?but trust me, they made the game even funnier!
I cannot wait for baby Caleb to arrive! My little daughter Aria cannot wait to have another little (boy)friend. Yay for babies!
