The Birreria at Pizzeria Paradiso's Georgetown location has reopened after renovations and is celebrating with a week of specials.
The new downstairs bar has a little more space with two high top communal tables. Chef/owner Ruth Gresser describes the vibe as warm and cozy with "a lot more character." The Birreria, which won't take reservations, will serve the full Pizzeria Paradiso menu as well as the complete bottle and draft beer list and a new selection of bar snacks. There will also be a happy hour every Monday through Thursday from 5 to 7 p.m.
Tonight, the Birreria is hosting an Italian craft beer tasting with $2 bowls of ribollita (a Tuscan soup) and half-price drafts from 5 to 7 p.m. Tomorrow, stop by for a smoked beer tasting, featuring a dozen smoky brews, as well as $2 antipasto plates and more half-price drafts during happy hour. The festivities finish up on Thursday with $1 draft beers and $1 bar snacks (limit one per customer for both specials).
